What is Couch Trip?

Couch Trip is a 3D driving and moving-day game where you deliver a couch, plus anything from a fridge to a snow globe, in the open bed of a pickup with Capybara and Raccoon. Bumps and landings snap straps and crack fragile things, so you keep hopping out: Capybara shoves rocks and lifts heavy loads, Raccoon climbs to tie up low branches but carries at most 30 kg. There are 24 jobs across Meadow Valley and Snowy Peaks, playable alone by swapping movers or with two players on one keyboard.

How to play Couch Trip

  2. Press E or Space to hop out; on foot the same keys walk, and holding E pushes, cranks gates, lays planks or ties things down.
  3. Swap between Capybara and Raccoon with Tab or Q: Capybara handles rocks and heavy items, Raccoon climbs to branches.
  4. Press H to honk sheep and goats off the road before you reach them.

Tips & tricks

  1. Honk the moment a herd comes into view: the horn clears sheep or goats up to 42 m ahead, so you never have to stop for them.
  2. Brake before a rock instead of nudging it with the bumper, which jolts the bed, then send Capybara out: only Capybara can shove it aside.
  3. Take creek jumps at a steady 30 to 40 km/h; any slower and the truck drops short of the 5 m gap.
  4. When a strap snaps, stop straight away, hop out, walk to the back of the bed and hold E to tie the item down before it slides off.
  5. Stuck in mud? Push with Capybara, not Raccoon: Capybara shoves the truck at 1.6 m/s, twice Raccoon's 0.8 m/s.
  6. Fragile pieces crack in knocks above 1.6 m/s, so on jobs with a vase, mirror or snow globe, roll over bumps slowly.

Frequently asked questions

What does the horn do in Couch Trip?

It clears animals off the road. One honk scatters a herd of sheep or goats up to 42 m ahead of the truck, and you can sound it again after 0.6 seconds. In solo play it is on H; with two players Capybara also honks with Q and Raccoon with the / key.

Which items can break in Couch Trip?

Eight are fragile: the TV, vase, aquarium, floor lamp, mirror, garden gnome, cuckoo clock and snow globe. They crack when a knock goes above 1.6 m/s, and every crack lowers the load's condition. Two stars need everything delivered at 75 percent condition or better, three need 90 percent inside par.

Why can't Raccoon carry the fridge in Couch Trip?

Raccoon lifts at most 30 kg. The fridge weighs 80 kg, the couch 65 kg, the aquarium 40 kg and the drum kit 38 kg, so if any of those fall off, Capybara has to walk back and carry them. Light pieces such as the 9 kg vase or 8 kg floor lamp are fine for Raccoon.

Can one player handle both movers in Couch Trip?

Yes. Playing alone, you switch between Capybara and Raccoon with Tab or Q, and whoever sits in the cab is the one driving. Swap to Capybara for rocks and heavy items, and to Raccoon for climbing; touch play adds a swap button next to the horn.

What happens at a low branch in Couch Trip?

Tall items on the bed get swept off unless you deal with it first. Stop, swap to Raccoon, walk under the branch and hold E to climb up and tie it back, which gives 2.3 m of clearance. The Bigfoot truck is too tall to pass under low branches at all.

How long do you have to finish a job in Couch Trip?

Twice the par time plus 45 seconds. Par times run from 40 to 110 seconds per job, and they are set from careful test runs, so they are always reachable. Finishing inside par with the load at 90 percent condition or better earns the third star, while running past the limit loses the job.
