Road Eater
A monster is eating the road right behind your buggy. Floor it, air-jump boulders and swap wheels mid-run to escape through 20 side-scrolling levels.
What is Road Eater?
Road Eater is a side-scrolling physics driving game where you keep a buggy ahead of the Eater, a giant monster chewing up the road behind you and getting faster every second. You clear boulders with an air-burst jump, tilt the buggy so it lands on its wheels, and switch on Crawler, Glider or Magnet wheels when a wall, a lava gap or a purple rail blocks the way. Its 20 levels in four chapters run one to two minutes each, so a full escape fits into a short break.

How to play Road Eater
Goal: Escape through the gate at the end of each level before the Eater catches up and bites the buggy.
- Keep the gas down from the first second: the Eater starts 105 to 140 m back and gains on you whenever you hesitate.
- Hit Space for an air-burst jump about a car length before a boulder; it recharges in 1.1 s and costs no energy.
- While airborne, tilt with A and D (or swipe on a touch screen) so the wheels touch down together.
- From level 3, press 1 to switch on Crawler before a steep wall; from level 6 a second slot on 2 holds Glider, and later Magnet.
- Roll over blue energy cells to put 35 back into the Morph Core, and fold the morph away on flat road so the core refills.

Tips & tricks
- Flip for cash: every full turn in the air that ends on your wheels pays 10 coins, so a big jump with room to land is worth a spin.
- Save Glider for the gap itself. It burns 27 energy a second, so switching it on while still on the ramp wastes core you need over the lava.
- When the ground starts shaking, a lava snake is about to burst out; jump at the warning and try to land on its head for 25 coins.
- If the screen pulses red, the Eater is under 35 m behind: stop juggling morphs and hold the gas on plain road.
- Landed on the roof? You have 4.5 s, so rock the buggy with A and D straight away instead of waiting for it to settle.
- Hold your two checkpoint continues for the end of a long level, where each one shoves the Eater back to 55 m behind you.
Frequently asked questions
How do you earn coins in Road Eater?
From stunts, snakes and the road itself. Each full flip you land on your wheels pays 10 coins, and stomping a lava snake pays 25, on top of coins picked up along the road. Coins buy garage upgrades for engine, grip, suspension and core, at 150 to 900 coins per step.
When do you unlock each morph in Road Eater?
Levels 1 and 2 have no morph at all, just gas, brake, jump and tilt. Level 3 hands you Crawler with one slot, level 6 adds Glider and a second slot, and level 11 brings Magnet for purple rails. After that you pick which two morphs ride along on each level.
What refills the Morph Core in Road Eater?
Driving and blue cells. Rolling along the ground in base form, with no morph switched on, slowly refills the 100-point core, and every blue energy cell you drive over adds 35 at once. Switching a morph on costs 8 up front, so the game refuses when less than 8 is left.
What do the low-gravity stretches in Road Eater change?
Jumps get much longer. On a few later levels, gravity drops to about half for a stretch of road and a hint warns you before it starts. The buggy floats higher and further, which helps over big gaps, but every landing takes longer to line up, so start tilting early.
How does the last level of Road Eater end?
With a core to switch on. The Last Road, level 20, finishes with a phase where you drive over three triggers on the road while the Eater is still chasing, and the screen counts them off as CORE 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3. Two ramp jumps sit between the triggers, so carry speed into each one.
How close can the Eater get before Road Eater ends your run?
All the way: the run ends only when the Eater actually bites. Once the gap falls under 35 m the screen pulses red, which is your cue to stop everything else and hold the gas. If it does bite late in a level, a checkpoint continue puts it 55 m back, twice per run.
