What is Tinsel Trails?

Tinsel Trails follows Lumi, a star-crowned penguin, through a Christmas village and an aurora-lit forest. Its small board hides a planning choice in every swap: chase points, reach an icy square or remove the ornament requested by the current order. The route has ten stops with three boards apiece. You get 24–30 successful swaps per board, with no timer pressing you to choose. Rockets and wish stars stay on the board after you make them, ready for a later combination.

How to play Tinsel Trails

Goal: Finish the ornament order, melt the marked ice or fill the point target while at least one useful swap remains.

  1. Start by reading the objective beside the tray: a high score does not automatically finish an ice or delivery board.
  2. Slide an ornament toward one of its four neighbors, or select the two with separate taps. A straight line of at least three removes those pieces.
  3. Look at the refill before swapping again. Falling ornaments can form extra matches within the same move.
  4. Keep a four-match ribbon rocket for a useful lane, or exchange a five-match wish star with the kind you want to remove.
  5. Once the target is filled, continue along Lumi’s route. Retry restores that board’s opening if you want to improve the stars.

Tips & tricks

  1. For corner ice, prepare a match in its row before spending moves in the middle of the tray.
  2. A wish star is especially valuable beside the ornament shown on the delivery order.
  3. Follow the ribbon direction: a horizontal rocket cannot sweep a separate column.
  4. A hint is a pointer, not an automatic swap; it trades the three-star chance for help on that attempt.

Frequently asked questions

Why does corner ice stay put in Tinsel Trails?

The frozen patch is attached to the square, not to whichever ornament rests there. You must clear a piece while it occupies that patch, or sweep the square with a launched rocket. Moving the ornament away without clearing the square leaves the ice in place. Check the icy corner itself after the falling pieces settle.

Can Lumi launch a newly made rocket in Tinsel Trails?

Lumi does not operate any pieces. A new rocket remains available so you can decide when to use it. Make another match containing the rocket, or exchange it with a second special piece. Its horizontal or vertical ribbon tells you the lane it will clear, and gravity may shift its position before it launches.

Does every cascade in Tinsel Trails have the same point value?

Later waves within one swap are worth more. Each cleared ornament awards ten points multiplied by that wave’s depth: the first wave uses one, the next uses two, and so on. The next player swap begins a new chain. These points help score targets; ice and delivery boards still require their own marked objective.

What does Tinsel Trails save between visits to Lumi’s route?

Unlocked boards, the best stars and best score on each board are stored, along with your effects and music choices. A partially played tray is not stored as a suspended position. Returning starts that board’s arrangement again. An attempt with fewer stars does not erase a better earlier result, so replay can be used for practice.

What happens when I pair two wish stars in Tinsel Trails?

Both stars activate and remove all 36 occupied squares before the tray refills. That can break remaining ice and collect requested ornaments among the removed pieces. You still spend one valid swap to make the combination. Stars first appear by matching five in a line, so creating and saving a pair can take planning.

Who wears the star crown in Tinsel Trails?

That is Lumi, the companion for the ZotaGame presentation. The violet scarf and star crown distinguish Lumi from the snowman and reindeer in the other looks. The companion is decorative: ornament positions, targets, refill outcomes and move counts are identical between looks. The Christmas journey is won through your own choices on the tray.
