What is Shape Pop?

Shape Pop is a 30-second reflex game where you tap colourful shapes the instant they appear, before they shrink and hop off the screen. Speed pays: a hit under 0.45 seconds earns 15 points instead of 10, and an unbroken chain pushes your multiplier to x2 and then x3. Golden stars refill the clock by 2 seconds, while black spiky bombs take 30 points. One round fits into any spare half-minute, and every new run is a fresh shot at your best score.

How to play Shape Pop

Goal: Score as many points as you can before the 30-second clock hits zero, keeping your combo alive and your taps away from the bombs.

  1. Press start and watch the stage: circles, squares, triangles, diamonds and hexagons pop up at random spots.
  2. Tap or click a shape right away. Under 0.45 seconds after it appears it pays 15 points, slower hits pay 10.
  3. Chain hits without a miss: the 5th pop in a row switches on x2 COMBO and the 10th switches on x3 COMBO.
  4. Grab golden stars marked +2 for 50 points times your combo and two extra seconds on the clock.
  5. Stay off the black stars with a white cross. Hitting one costs 30 points and wipes out your combo.
  6. When HURRY! flashes you have 5 seconds left, and new shapes are arriving almost twice as fast as at the start.

Tips & tricks

  1. Watch for shrinking: a target that starts to get smaller has only about 0.35 s left, so hit it before anything else.
  2. Only hit what you are sure of. A tap on empty space costs no points but drops a x3 chain all the way back to x1.
  3. Save stars for a long chain when you can: at x3 one golden star is worth 150 points instead of 50.
  4. Ignore a bomb completely. It fades away by itself, and a bomb that leaves never breaks your combo.
  5. In the last 5 seconds up to 6 targets share the screen, so sweep from one side to the other instead of jumping around.
  6. A star that disappears unpopped does not reset your streak, so never risk a bomb hit just to reach one.

Frequently asked questions

Does tapping empty space cost points in Shape Pop?

No, a miss never subtracts points, but it costs something bigger: your streak. Any tap that lands away from a target resets the multiplier to x1, so a stray tap during an x3 chain throws away the triple bonus on every pop that follows until you rebuild it.

Can your score drop below zero in Shape Pop?

No. A bomb takes 30 points, but the counter stops at 0. That means hitting a bomb in the very first seconds hurts less than hitting one late, when it also breaks a combo you spent many pops building.

How many targets can be on screen at once in Shape Pop?

Three at the start of a round and up to six by the end. The cap grows steadily over the 30 seconds while new targets also arrive more often, going from one every 0.52 seconds to one every 0.26 seconds.

What does the HURRY! warning mean in Shape Pop?

It means only 5 seconds remain. The word flashes in the middle of the screen with a countdown sound. Popping a golden star at that point still adds 2 seconds, so the warning is also the best moment to go after a star.

Which targets break your combo when they escape in Shape Pop?

Only the regular coloured shapes. If a circle, square, triangle, diamond or hexagon jumps away, your chain resets to x1. A golden star or a black bomb can vanish without any penalty, so you never have to chase them.

How precise do your taps need to be in Shape Pop?

A little less precise than you might think. Each target counts a hit slightly outside its drawn edge, about 15% beyond its radius, so a tap that just brushes the rim still pops it. Bombs use the same rule, so keep a clear margin around them.
