Paddle Duel
Grab a friend and one screen: you guard the top, they guard the bottom. The ball speeds up on every hit until someone reaches 7.
What is Paddle Duel?
Paddle Duel is a two-player paddle game where you and a friend share one screen, slide your paddles along opposite edges and bat a ball back and forth until one of you scores 7 points. Each return makes the ball 7% quicker, so a calm rally at serve speed becomes a blur after about 15 hits. Striking the ball with your paddle's edge bends it by up to 60 degrees. Both players can share a keyboard, or face each other across a phone or tablet laid flat.

How to play Paddle Duel
Goal: Be the first player to score 7 points by sending the ball past your rival's edge while never letting it slip past yours.
- Pick a side: player 1 uses the pink paddle at the top, player 2 the purple paddle at the bottom.
- Wait for the 3-2-1 countdown. The ball then flies out of the centre toward one of you, alternating every point.
- Slide your paddle under the ball. Meet it with the middle to return it straight, or with an edge to angle it sharply.
- Keep the rally going while the ball gets 7% faster on each return and bounces off the side walls at full pace.
- When the ball gets past an edge, the other player scores POINT! and the next serve starts at normal speed.
- MATCH POINT appears as soon as someone has 6 points; the next point they win ends the match at 7.

Tips & tricks
- Meet the ball near a paddle tip rather than the middle: tip hits bend it up to 60° and drag your rival across the court.
- After a sharp angle, slide straight back to the centre. The return can come from either wall, and the middle covers both.
- Late in a long rally, return straight with the middle of the paddle: at top speed, wide angles are harder for you to cover too.
- On a touch screen, keep your finger where you want the paddle to stop. It chases your finger roughly three times faster than the keys move it.
- Use each 3-2-1 to park your paddle in the middle: the serve can leave up to 30° to either side.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a win-by-two rule in Paddle Duel?
No. The match ends the moment either player reaches 7 points, so 7–6 is a full win. That makes the MATCH POINT warning important: once your rival has 6, every single rally can be the last one, with no extra points to catch up.
What does the MATCH POINT message mean in Paddle Duel?
It means one player has 6 points and needs only one more to win. The message flashes in the middle of the court before the 3-2-1 countdown of that serve, and it appears again before every serve until the match is decided.
Can two people share one keyboard in Paddle Duel?
Yes. The top player steers with A and D, the bottom player with the left and right arrow keys, and both can press at the same time. P or Esc pauses the match for both players when someone needs a break.
How many returns does it take to reach top speed in Paddle Duel?
About 15. Every return multiplies the speed by 1.07, and the ball stops speeding up at roughly 2.6 times its serve speed. Long rallies are the only way to get there, because the ball drops back to serve speed after every point.
Is a touch paddle faster than a keyboard paddle in Paddle Duel?
Yes, by a lot. Holding a finger or the mouse button in your half pulls the paddle toward that spot at around three times the speed the keys move it. If a key is also held for that side, the key wins and the paddle moves at keyboard speed.
Do the side walls slow the ball down in Paddle Duel?
No. A wall flips the ball's direction but keeps every bit of its speed, so a bank shot arrives just as fast as a straight one. Only the paddles change the pace, adding 7% on each return until the speed cap.
