What is Stitch Stack?

Stitch Stack is a stacked-tile matching puzzle hosted by Glint, a neon night moth who guards the sewing room after dark. Every tile shows one of 12 notions, from buttons to knitting needles, and only the ones with nothing resting on them can be picked. Picked tiles queue in a 7-seat tray, where any set of three stitches itself away. Gingham-backed tiles hide their notion until dug out from stage 9, and numbered pins lock tiles from stage 17.

How to play Stitch Stack

Goal: Empty the whole pile, ideally without an undo and without ever letting more than four tiles crowd the tray.

  1. Pick any tile whose top is clear; it slides into the tray beside matching notions.
  2. Line up three of a kind and they stitch away on the spot, opening their seats again.
  3. Seven seats filled with no set of three, or no pickable tile left, ends the stage.
  4. Pins show how many sets of three you still owe before the tile underneath comes loose.

Tips & tricks

  1. Count the copies of a notion you can already see before opening a new kind; strays are what clog the tray.
  2. Dig where the pile is deepest: a tile that rests on several others opens more of the stack at once.
  3. Clear cheap pins early on stages 17 to 30 so the locked tiles are loose when the pile thins.
  4. If the tray reaches five, tap the hint bulb: it only marks tiles that can still finish the stage.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the third matching tile always fit in the Stitch Stack tray?

The set of three stitches away before the tray is counted. So even with six tiles waiting, the matching third one lands, clears its two partners and leaves the tray with four. Only a seventh tile that completes nothing ends the stage.

What is hidden under the gingham tiles in Stitch Stack?

A normal notion that you are not allowed to see yet. Gingham tiles show up from stage 9, between 3 and 10 per pile, and flip over as soon as the last tile above them is picked. Uncover them before sending a brand-new kind to the tray.

How do pinned tiles unlock in Stitch Stack?

Each pin carries a number from 1 to 3: the sets of three you must still stitch away. Every completed set lowers all pins by one, and a pin at zero falls off so the tile can be picked. Pins appear on stages 17 to 30.

What does a three-star Stitch Stack stage need?

Clear the pile, never press undo, and never hold more than four tiles in the tray. Each stage was built from a solution that never goes past four, so a perfect run exists on every one of the 30 stages.

Who is Glint in Stitch Stack?

Glint is the neon night moth that hosts the game on ZotaGame. The moth reacts to your picks, cheers when a set of three is stitched and warns you when the tray gets crowded. It is decoration only and never changes the rules.
