What is Cool Crate?

Cool Crate is a sorting puzzle where every shelf of a fridge holds three slots up front and more rows hiding behind. Each move sends one snack to a free slot on a different shelf, and three identical snacks side by side disappear, letting the row behind slide out. Thirty fridges grow from 4 shelves and 9 snacks to 9 shelves and 36, and each one has been beaten by a solver inside its move limit.

How to play Cool Crate

Goal: Empty the whole fridge before the move counter runs down to zero.

  1. Tap a snack in the front row of any shelf to lift it.
  2. Tap a free slot on another shelf to drop it there; that costs one move.
  3. Line up three of the same snack on one shelf and they vanish together.
  4. When a front row empties, the next row slides out from behind; the tiny icons above a shelf tell you what is coming.

Tips & tricks

  1. Count your free slots before every move: with two or fewer, only drop a snack where it makes a pair or a trio.
  2. Empty shelves that still hide rows first. Fresh snacks mean fresh pairs.
  3. A frosted snack still counts where it sits, so carry two matching snacks to it instead of waiting for the thaw.
  4. On guest levels, scan the order bubble first: a ready pair plus one move earns 2 moves back.
  5. Stuck? The light-bulb hint is free and never costs a star.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Quill in Cool Crate?

Quill is the snowy owl with a lime headset who looks after the fridge from beside the shelves. Quill hops when a trio vanishes, frowns when a guest walks off or the moves run out, and cheers when the last shelf is empty. When no trio can be made at all, Quill packs three snacks into a lunchbox so the round never jams.

How long does a frozen snack stay stuck in Cool Crate?

At most two vanishing trios. Frost only shows up in the Freezer Drawer chapter, levels 11 to 20, and each trio cleared anywhere in the fridge strips one layer from every frozen snack. Levels 16 to 20 add snacks frozen two layers deep; the badge on the ice tells you how many trios are still needed.

What do the guests in Cool Crate want?

Each guest in the Party Platter chapter, levels 21 to 30, orders one snack and waits 6 moves. Make a trio of that snack in time and you get 2 bonus moves. Miss it and the guest simply leaves; another one arrives 3 moves later, so there is no penalty for letting an awkward order go.

Why do some Cool Crate levels feel tighter than the rest?

Levels 15, 20, 25 and 30 begin with only 2 empty slots instead of 3. With less room to park snacks, every move should build a pair, finish a trio or clear a shelf, and the last free slot is best kept open until it completes three of a kind.

How are stars counted in Cool Crate?

Stars compare your moves with par, the number the built-in careful player needed. Match par or beat it for 3 stars, stay within half of the spare moves for 2 stars, and any other clear earns 1. Level 1 has a par of 4 out of 10 moves; level 30 has a par of 44 out of 50.

Can the moves in Cool Crate go up during a level?

Yes, but only through guests. Serving a guest's order adds 2 moves to the counter, and a guest can turn up every few moves on the party levels. Hints, free lunchboxes and restarts never change the counter, and no other snack or event refunds moves.
