Word Hatch
Spot the hidden words in each letter grid and the unused letters hatch a secret word from the egg. 30 word search levels across three nests.
What is Word Hatch?
Word Hatch is a word search where the grid hides one more surprise: once you have circled every word on the list, the letters nobody used light up in reading order and spell the egg word, such as BLOSSOM on the first garden level. Echo, a little owl robot, keeps the nest while you play. Grids grow from 6×6 to 8×8 and word lists from 6 to 14 words, and the last ten levels let words run in all eight directions. Nothing is timed, so you can play at your own pace.

How to play Word Hatch
Goal: Find every word on the list so the leftover letters can hatch the egg word.
- Pick a word from the list and look for its first letter in the grid.
- Drag from that letter to the word's last letter, or tap the first letter and then the last one.
- A correct word gets a colour band and is crossed off; a wrong line is only a miss and costs nothing.
- Keep an eye on the egg: it tells you how many letters the egg word has.
- Find the last word and the leftover letters, read row by row, spell the egg word.
Controls
| Key | Action |

| P or the pause button | Pause the game |
Tips & tricks
- Look for letter pairs that are rare together, like double letters or a K next to an N; they give a word away faster than a common first letter.
- Cross off short words last: once the long ones are gone, there are far fewer cells left for a three-letter word to hide in.
- In the second nest, diagonals only climb or fall toward the right, so you never need to read a slant from right to left there.
- If the egg word is almost spelled before you finish, the gaps in it tell you which letters the remaining words must cover.
- Press Hint only once per word: the first press just rings the starting letter, and staying at two hints or fewer keeps 2 stars.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the egg word come from in Word Hatch?
It is spelled by the cells that no listed word passes through. When the last word is found, those leftover letters are read row by row from the top left and fly into the egg. Every grid is built so that the leftovers spell a real word from the level's theme set, never random filler.
How many stars can I get on a Word Hatch level?
Up to three. Finishing without any hint gives 3 stars, using one or two hints gives 2, and more hints give 1. Wrong swipes never count against you, and your best result for each level is kept when you replay it.
Do the grids in Word Hatch get harder?
Yes, in three steps. The first nest uses only across and down words in 6×6 or 6×7 grids. The second adds rising and falling diagonals on a 7×7 grid. The third opens all eight directions, including backwards, on an 8×8 grid with up to 14 words.
Can I play Word Hatch with a keyboard?
Yes. The arrow keys move a cursor around the grid, Enter marks the first letter and then the last letter of a word, and Esc cancels a marked letter. H asks for a hint, R restarts the level and P pauses the game.
Who is the owl in Word Hatch?
That is Echo, a small owl robot who sits beside the nest. Echo cheers when you find a word, looks worried after a miss and celebrates when the egg hatches. Echo is only a companion, so the rules and the grids stay exactly the same.
Is there a word in Word Hatch that can be found in two places?
No. Each grid is checked so that every listed word reads in exactly one spot, forwards or backwards. Grids are also tested against random swipes, which hit a listed word less than 5% of the time, so a find really means you spotted it.
