Moonspell Match
Plan a short chain of swaps across a glowing 6×6 charm board. Thirty fantasy stages trade a countdown for a forgiving allowance of 24–30 moves.
What is Moonspell Match?
Moonspell Match turns a small move budget into a magical planning puzzle. Every stage starts with 36 illustrated charms, and only a swap that creates a matching row or column spends a turn. Follow Nova the star wand through ten storybook settings: first build a score, then break fixed patches of frost, then gather a marked charm. Cascades refill the board and keep earning points within the same turn, so a well-placed swap can matter more than several ordinary matches.

How to play Moonspell Match
Goal: Meet the current stage’s points, frost or charm target before the final valid swap is spent.
- Check the objective card before choosing a pair; points are only the goal on stages 1–10.
- Choose two neighboring charms with a tap each, or swipe one into the other, so three or more line up.
- Each match bursts into sparks, then existing charms and new arrivals fall from above; a further line continues the cascade without another move.
- From stage 11, clear charms sitting on frost. From stage 21, focus on the particular charm beside the objective.
- When the result opens, retry the same opening or move to the next unlocked stage.
Controls
| Key | Action |

Tips & tricks
- Create an arrow charm before attacking distant frost: when you match that arrow charm again, its spell sweeps the lane.
- Use the number under the board as your three-star plan; finishing within it without hints earns the top award.
- For a collection task, a large cascade is useful only if it also removes the charm you need.
- When a planned opening fails, retry preserves the initial arrangement and refill sequence, making it possible to test a different second move.
- The countdown never starts, so take the time to inspect what a falling column could line up.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a countdown in the Moonspell Match stages?
There is no clock. You can leave a board unchanged while considering a swap, and the cascade multiplier does not expire while you think. The limit is the number of valid swaps: every stage supplies between 24 and 30. When those are spent without reaching the objective, the result offers an immediate retry.
Does retry give a different Moonspell Match opening?
Retry restores the same opening and the same refill sequence. A different choice can still change later cascades, but repeating the same choices reproduces their result. That makes retry useful for learning a route toward three stars instead of waiting for a luckier initial board. Other stages have their own arrangements.
What changes when I enter a new Moonspell Match world?
A new painted setting and charm set appear every three stages, across ten worlds in total. The objective families change at stage 11, when frost appears, and stage 21, when collection starts. Every stage uses five charm kinds on the same 6×6 grid, making new matches and special charms easier to find.
Will the Hint button make a move for me in Moonspell Match?
No. Hint outlines a legal neighboring pair and leaves both charms in place until you make the swap yourself. It does not spend a move, but asking for any hint caps that stage’s result at two stars. You can still finish and unlock the next stage, then retry later without hints.
Who is Nova beside the Moonspell Match board?
Nova is the glowing star wand that accompanies the ZotaGame version. The companion gives the scene a different silhouette from the lantern in the arcade presentation and the grimoire in the light presentation. Nova does not change charm positions, targets, scoring or the recorded move allowance, so all versions play by the same rules.
What progress does Moonspell Match remember?
The game saves the stages you have unlocked, your best star result and highest score for each stage, and separate choices for sound effects and Halloween music. Returning to a stage starts its opening again rather than resuming a partly played board. Winning always keeps your best earlier result if the new attempt earns fewer stars.
Can I combine the special charms in Moonspell Match?
Yes. Swapping two arrow charms activates both lane spells, and a pumpkin can activate the arrow charm it is swapped with while clearing the chosen type. Two pumpkins remove the full board. A four-match first creates an arrow piece and a five-match creates a pumpkin; these are stored pieces, so you can plan when and where to use their effects.
